Antarctic tipping warning, mega drying – now greatest sea level rise contributor, total Earth systems sequestration flips into decline

Evidence continues to mount that Earth systems processes have passed tipping points or their tipping is foregone without rapid restoration of our climate to within the evolutionary boundary conditions of our former climate. No amount of warming beyond the maximum of our old climate is now safe and we must cool from today to restore those natural conditions. These conditions continue to worsen at an increasing pace, but our global climate mitigation process has now been upended by anti-science leadership in the U.S. this article summarizes three important new articles on Antarctic tipping from destabilization of the Great Southern Ocean, on how mega-drying globally has now resulted in more water staying in the oceans causing the greater sea level rise than the thawing poles, and how evidence interpreted from atmospheric CO2 concentrations’ seasonal swings shows that globally, Earth systems sequestration has flipped from sequestration into degradation.
