Who We Are

Founded in 2021, the Healthy Planet Action Coalition (HPAC) is an international group of over 200 participants from over a dozen countries advocating urgent action to restore a safe and healthy planet.

Why We Are Here

Because of delay in action, Earth systems are beginning to collapse with foregone untenable futures baked in unless we restore our climate to restore our Earth systems.

Healthy Climate Triad

The healthy climate triad includes actions that cool by reflection of sunlight, remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and reduce emissions to create a sustainable future.

Healthy Climate Solutions

Cool with known sunlight reflection strategies, Remove with 100-year old industrial processes, Reduce with strategies that are more than a generation old.

Current temperatures are rapidly climbing well past safe levels, endangering lives and ecosystems while ensuring  “tipping points” will rapidly lead to irreversible impacts. Evaluating the most recent data, a coalition of international experts has come together to create a better way forward to ensure humanity’s future by restoring our climate,  not allowing additional warming as our global climate culture suggests is safe.

The Climate Triad is…

Real Science

Using the most recent published data, a coalition of scientists and climate experts have created a better way forward to ensure humanity’s future . A way that is actually capable of restoring a safe and healthy climate.

Real Solutions

Rather than the present approach of just slowing the increase in global temperatures and impacts, The Climate Triad offers an approach that in coming decades can help us restore a safe and healthy climate with the global average temperature well below 1°C above its preindustrial norm.

Real Hope

Restoring a safe climate would help protect the natural world and humanity – especially the most vulnerable people and least advantaged nations – while also reducing climate anxiety, protecting national and international security, democracy and reducing the number of environmental refugees, thus helping to ensure a livable planet for ourselves, our children and their children.

(From Moore 2025) "The prevailing “consequences-based paradigm” defines the role of climate scientists as informing the public about the negative effects of climate change, assuming this will mobilize political action to reduce emissions. Under this paradigm, research into strategies other than decarbonization is often seen as counterproductive, an...

Founded in 2005, the Climate Change Now Initiative is at the forefront of climate science education. This science tells us that abrupt changes have begun 100 times more extreme and 100 years ahead of schedule. Because of the delay, too much CO2 has been emitted for emissions reductions to cool. But the delay has allowed scientists to perfect the solutions: unambigous, cheap, simple, and much different than before — but further delay is no longer optional. The newly emerging science of global warming psychology says previous education strategies have failed and new ones are needed.

Thirty years of delay
Abrupt changes have begun
Our old climate culture must rapidly change

We use the most advanced global warming psychology to enhance outreach. Thirty years of trying has resulted in advancement of impacts that will result in unrecoverable scenarios if we do not reverse warming immediately.
